LubNote- Never Stop Loving You

“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MR. AND MRS. NOTE!” Everyone in the church cheered as the priest made his announcement.  Lubby and Lucas pulled away from their kiss just in time to see their friends and family standing from their peus, some crying and some just simply celebrating the ceremony.  Lucas grabbed Lubby’s hand and squeezed it. Lubby smiled when she felt the cold stone touch of Lucas’s silver ring as he held her hand tightly.

They walked down the aisle pass the many rows of cheering people. Lubby’s long white veil and dress dragged behind her as she walked beside Lucas. Lucas’s little sister, Addison, emptied her basket of flower petals as she ran behind them.

Once they exited the church, more cheering people were seen on each side of the descending steps of the church. They stood on the top step, watching the crowd. Addison soon caught up with them and said, “Come on, just kiss already! They’ve been out here the whole time and they didn’t get to see you two!” Lubby and Lucas exchanged glances, then Lucas grinned and pulled Lubby into him, kissing her lips instantly. The crowd burst with loud cheers as they kissed.

Lubby’s eyes slowly slid open as her dream faded away. It took a while for her vision to clear from the sand built up in her eyes. Once it did, the only thing she could see was Lucas’s chest, which was covered by a green t-shirt. She was being held in a tight yet gentle embrace. She also noticed that it was still dark in their room. They were only being slightly illuminated from the moonlight shining through the window above their bed.

She laid in Lucas’s arms and stared into his chest. She smiled when she thought about her dream of her and Lucas getting married, knowing for sure that it would happen someday.

Not being able to fall back asleep, Lubby moved her arms above Lucas’s shoulders and around his neck. She pulled herself up as she hugged him. This cause Lucas to wake up.

“You okay, Lubby?” Lucas said with a yawn.

“I’m fine, hun...” Lubby replied sweetly, still embracing Lucas.

“Why are you awake?”

“Oh, you know me, I wake up when I have short dreams...”

“What’d you dream about this time?” Lucas asked. Lubby sighed and held Lucas tighter, remembering her dream. When she didn’t answer, Lucas became concerned. “What’s wrong? Was it a nightmare?”

“No...” Lubby finally said, then she whispered, “I dreamt that we were getting married...”

“Oh really, huh?” Lucas replied, then yawned, “That’s a pretty nice dream...”

“I know...” Lubby agreed.

“You know what I heard, Lub?”

“What’d you hear?”

Lucas chuckled, then whispered, “I heard that some dreams can tell the future.” Lubby giggled faintly, then returned her arms back to where they were before.

Lucas then turned onto his back. Lubby scooted closer and laid her head on his chest. “I really hope that that’ll happen one day...” Lubby said, as if she was worried that it wouldn’t.

“Are you worried that it won’t?” Lucas asked with concern, staring at the dark ceiling.

“Sorta...” Lubby admitted, “I mean...what if this is all...too good to be true?”

“What makes you think that?” Lucas asked, starting to grow worried.

“Well...” Lubby couldn’t find the right words. “I’m just really scared that one day we might start to drift apart. I don’t want that to happen. I love you so much and I wanna be with you forever, but I’m really really scared that it might happen.”

Lucas thought for a moment on what she said, then started to understand as to what she meant. He realized that he felt the same way. What if after a while their love will just start dying? What if they just stop loving each other, and go find others? What if they start hating each other? All these thoughts were racing through his head.

Then he starting coming to his senses. “No,”  he thought, looking back to all the memories he had with her. He once again realized how much he really loved her. And he knew well that Lubby loves him back just as much. Although, Lubby was starting to fear the worst. He had to fix that.

Lucas turned to his side and used his arm to support him. He looked down at Lubby with a serious look on his face, and she looked up at him with sad glossy eyes.

“Listen...” Lucas said firmly, “I know what you’re starting to fear. I’ve been fearing the same. But never forget this: You are mine, and no one else's. I will never drift from you, not even if I tried. And I will never stop loving you.”

Lubby started up at him, her eyes watering. Then her lips curved upward into a large smile. She launched up at him and wrapped her arms around his neck.

Lucas paused, then he smiled, and held Lubby in his arms. He turned back over on his back with Lubby laying right on top of him, still hugging him. Lucas pulled the blankets over them and snuggled Lubby, placing his arms around her back.

They laid like this for a while, then Lubby lifted her head and hovered above Lucas’s face. She smiled, showing her pearly white teeth. Then she brought her lips into his. She moved her hands from around Lucas’s neck and onto his face as they kissed.

Lubby knew that Lucas loved her, but thinking of that dream made her worried that this was all too good to be true. She was having some of the same thoughts of Lucas, but just like him, she came to her senses and realized that she was being silly. Hearing Lucas’s words proved that they were both meant for eachother.

Lucas slowly moved his hands down Lubby’s back as he kissed her, eventually reaching the edge of her shirt. He slid his hands under her shirt and onto her back. He loved doing this while he was kissing her in a position like this, and he knew that Lubby liked it too, because it always made her blush no matter what. Lucas always loved seeing her blush.

About a minute passed by before Lubby pulled away and wrapped her arms around his neck again. Lucas removed his hands from under Lubby’s shirt. One hand was wrapped around her back, while the other was lightly stroaking Lubby’s soft blond hair.

“Lucas?” Lubby whispered, her face still buried in Lucas’s neck.

“Yeah?” he replied, ceasing his stroking and rested his hand against her neck.

“Promise me that this’ll never be too good to be true.” Even though Lubby knew full well that Lucas loved her, she still wanted to be sure that this relationship will last.

“Don’t worry, Lubby,” Lucas assured her, “I’m gonna be in your life forever.” Lubby smiled, then said, “I love you so much...”

“I love you, too...” he replied sweetly, tightening his grip on Lubby.

Soon after that, Lucas began to hum a lullaby for Lubby once again. He always did this when Lubby couldn’t fall back asleep. His voice was so heartwarming, that it’s the perfect voice to make you doze off. And that’s exactly what happened.

After a few moments of Lucas’s gorgeous singing, Lubby eventually fell asleep. What Lucas thought was funny, was that Lubby was still laying right on top of him; so, he couldn’t move.

“Heh...sweet dreams, hun,” he cooed, quietly, kissing her head. Then falling asleep, with Lubby still laying on top of him.
